Nicholas Pavoni (better known by his stage name Nicholas a. Milillo) (Born May 30, 1990) (formerly known as N Pa /N Pa Productions) is an American Electronic producer and song-writer currently working as an independent artist.
He was signed to Arctic Mode, a London-based independent sub-label to Feel Rec from 2013 to 2014 and was signed to Stereo FX, a London-based independent label from 2010 to 2012.[1] He started working as N Pa Productions as early as mid 2007, self-releasing the now unobtainable albums Reality | a dream and Reality | a dream: The B-Side.
In 2008 and 2009, he collaborated with numerous vocalists and producers from different genres of music for his debut album Sight & Sound, as well as producing tracks for multiple artists.
On 24 September 2013, his second studio album The Ghost Within: The Tale of Turmoil and his fifth extended play Unorthodox were released. In August 2015, he released The Ghost Within: Remixed (Part I). He was working on Tomorrow Comes Today in 2014, but has since gone on hiatus as of October 2015.
In 2020, work began on his third and final studio album.
Biography
Early Years (2008-2009)
In 2008, He collaborated with Electronic vocalist Lori Cunningham on an ambient track titled Reflections.[2][3] The song would be track 1 on Lori Cunningham's debut album Unseen, released in November 2008.[4] [5] For two years, he worked on a collaborative dance album titled Sight & Sound with independent artists from many different genres of music. The album was released on April 27th, 2009. Following the release of Sight & Sound, a Remix and B-Sides Compilation album titled Sight & Sound: The Remixes and B-Sides was released in May 2009.
On November 3rd, 2009, he released his first 4 track instrumental EP Morning Light, under his new stage name.[6] On November 26th, 2009, Digital Elephant released her debut album/EP Your Flaws Are Your Perfections featuring one track co-written and produced by N Pa. He also served as a writer, executive producer, graphic designer, and audio engineer on the album. Producers for the album included Forest aka Hikikomori, Luperio, and Lexvox.[7]
Feature Film Debut, EPs, and The Ghost Within: The Tale of Turmoil (2010-2013)
A second EP release followed in January 2010, entitled As The Rush Comes.[8] Later in 2010, N Pa's music would appear in the feature film, Standing Ovation, which was a critical and finanical box office failure.[9][10][11][12] The soundtrack for the film was released on May 25, 2010 and August 2, 2010.[13][14][15][16]
On September 7, 2010, He released his first single Memories, from his second studio album The Ghost Within: The Tale of Turmoil.[17] It was released by London based Independent record label Stereo FX on iTunes, and subsequently taken down 3 years later.[18][19]
The Ghost Within: The Tale of Turmoil is the first release, and second installment in The Ghost Within Trilogy. which was set to include the EP Tomorrow Comes Today and the third studio album The Ghost Within: Melinda's Madness (The Downfall).
On April 16, 2012, Release Me: The Remixes EP was released as a free download on Bandcamp, and Mediafire in conjunction with Stereo FX.[20][21][22][23][24]
On June 15, 2012, a promotional single from The Ghost Within, "Blistered" featuring vocals by Hard Rock vocalist Chris Volz was originally intended to be the second single from the album.[25]
On July 24, 2012, it announced that the Alternative Hip-Hop EP Unorthodox would be self-released in 2013.[26] Who Am I (In The Mirror), the first single from the EP, was released on December 18th, 2012 as a free download.[27][28][29][30].
On January 19th, 2013, N Pa announced that the demo track, Feel Your Love, would be released on Feel Your Love: The Lost Demo EP, which will include a remix of the song. It was released as a free download on Janruary 22nd, 2013 exclusively on BandCamp.[31][32][33]
On April 1st, he un-officially released the third and finale single from The Ghost Within, titled Sea of Darkness on his Soundcloud. The single also included a remix by Radio Host and Artist DJ Gabster aka Gabrielle Ag.[34] On April 20th, he released the second single from his EP Unorthodox, titled MapQuest on his Bandcamp page shortly after.[35]
On May 9th, the track list and release date for his second studio album, The Ghost Within: The Tale of Turmoil was officially announced.[36]
On July 20th, it was revealed both The Ghost Within: The Tale of Turmoil and Unorthodox - EP would be released on the same day exclusively on BandCamp. It was also announced that he and Independent record label Stereo FX had parted ways.[37]
On September 16, a tweet was sent out that revealed the official release date for The Ghost Within: The Tale of Turmoil and Unorthodox would be on September 24th, 2013.[38][39]
On November 27, 2013, FeelRec, a London based Independent Record label announced on their Twitter that their Sub-label Arctic Mode and Ditto Music would be re-issuing The Ghost Within.[40][41][42] The album was reissued as an Extended Play on December 9, 2013 on iTunes, Spotify, AmazonMP3, GooglePlay, eMusic, JunoDownload, MuiscNodes, and 7Digital.[43][44][45][46][47][48][49][50][51] The EP contains 5 tracks from the full length version of the album.
On December 24, 2013, it was announced that production on Tomorrow Comes Today has commenced and vocalists were confirmed.[52]
Compilation album, and Tomorrow Comes Today (2014-2015)
On March 18, 2014, the animated album cover for The Ghost Within: The Tale of Turmoil was released on Graphic designer Alexander Stubbe's Youtube account.[53][54] It was subsequently taken down and put on N Pa's YouTube channel a month later.
On May 24, 2014, it was announced that two vocalists for Tomorrow Comes Today have dropped out due to scheduling conflicts.[55]
On June 1, 2014, It was revealed that a Tribute album to Robert Downey, Jr.'s debut album The Futurist entitled The Futurist II: A Tribute will be made. The album would have featured a cover of "In Need of a Friend" by The Cowsills.[56] On June 10, the concept summary for Tomorrow Comes Today was released on N Pa's Facebook.[57]
On July 1, 2014, a snippet of the track "Escape" was posted on his Soundcloud.[58] On July 5, 2014, it was announced that Escape will be the first single from Tomorrow Comes Today.[59]
On August 13, 2014, it was announced that the single 'Escape' is being worked on and that it will feature vocals by Masha of Exilia.[60]
On September 8, 2014, the cover for Escape was released.[61] On September 22, 2014, it was announced that Stacey Dee will be taking over vocal duties on "My Own Blood" from FloatstoneHeart for the EP.[62]
On October 14, 2014, it was revealed that mixing and mastering on the Escape has commenced and expected to be released sometime later in the month.[63] On October 15, 2014, it was announced that the EP will be released in December 2014 and will only feature "Escape" and "My Own Blood"[64] On October 19, 2014, it was also revealed that the EP will be released independently and that it will be expanded with new tracks being added during 2015.[65]
On November 9, 2014, it was announced on Arctic Mode's Facebook page that the label and N Pa have parted ways amicably and that "The Ghost Within: The Tale of Turmoil EP" would be taken off online stores.[66]
On August 11, 2015, the compilation album for The Ghost Within: The Tale of Turmoil, The Ghost Within: Remixed (Part I) was released exclusively on Bandcamp as a free download.[67]
On October 6, 2015, it was revealed that N Pa was going on an indefinitive hiatus.[68]
Return to Music and Final Studio Album (2016-)
In November 2016, it was announced that he will be producing music again.[69]
On December 27th, 2020, N Pa released his first single Nothing In Your Eyes with Marcie, Gloom Is Okay, and Android Invasion from forthcoming album Euphoric Absence.
On May 18th, 2021, he released the introduction track for Euphoric Absence titled Ambience of Sound and Motion with guitar by Gloom Is Okay. Additionally on October 6, 2021, he released the instrumental version of "Wanderer" from the album as we'll, subsequently taking it down some time after.
On December 8, 2021, it was revealed that he would be un-officially releasing a remix of checkin' out by SALES with additional guitar by Taylor Barefoot. It was released on January 15, 2022.
On December 31st, 2021, Nothing In Your Eyes was re-released on Spotify, Apple Music, and YouTube, respectively by Marcie.
On February 11, 2022, it was announced that Euphoric Absence will be released as his third and final studio album, 11 years after the release of The Ghost Within: The Tale of Turmoil.
In August 2023, Nicholas re-released Ambience of Sound and Motion to Spotify, Apple Music, AmazonMP3, and YouTube Music under his final pseudonum, Nicholas a. Milillo.
In September 2023, a list of collaborators featured on Euphoric Absence was released, followed by a promotional Still video featuring an exclusive "Glitch Edit Edition" of Euphoric Absence V3, with the audio being released on Soundcloud.
In October 2023, a promotional video was released showcasing the different iterations of the cover art for Euphoric Absence from 2020 to its upcoming release in 2025.
